Allee Auringer broke two school passing records for touchdown passes, 7, and yards, 293, in Chiles’ 44-7 rout of Leon. The Timberwolves scored on their first three possessions in quickly establishing a big lead. The Timberwolves went 66 yards in 13 plays capped off by a 20 yard pass from Auringer to Dorian Simpkins. They went 31 yards their next possession with a touchdown pass caught by Izzy Bevan-Thomas. Emilee Sims scored the third Chiles touchdown with a career long 45 yard reception. In all, seven T-Wolf players caught passes, five of whom scored touchdowns. Defensively, Morgan May lead the team with six flag pulls and Brianna CAines picked off two passes.
With the win, Chiles wins their sub-district title and will play FAMU High in the first round of the District Tournament beginning May 1 at Godby. Next up, though, is Senior Night, vs. Madison on Thursday. Game time is at 7:00.
