Chiles Timberwolves nabbed the lead late in the game in an 8-2 victory over Daphne on Friday. The game was tied at one with Chiles batting in the bottom of the fifth when Caroline Jacobsen singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The Lady Timberwolves opened up scoring in the first inning, when Molly Hennessy singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The Timberwolves scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Abbie Townley, Amaya Gainer, and Jacobsen, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Dani Bauer got the win for Chiles Timberwolves. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking one.
The Timberwolves totaled 13 hits in the game. Jacobsen, Hennessy, Maegan Tomlinson, and Sierra Jevyak each had multiple hits. Hennessy and Jacobsen each collected three hits to lead the the Timberwolves. Jacobsen led the Chiles Timberwolves with five stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.
