The Chiles Timberwolves stormed out a 28 point first quarter lead and coasted to a 47-20 road victory over Deltona Friday night. The Timberwolves scored on their first three offensive possessions, all on big plays. Running back Chase Gillispie put the first two Chiles TD’s on the board with bursts of 27 and 25 yards up the middle. Bryson Cooksey followed with a 32 yard reception from Garrett Greene. In the meantime, the T-Wolves defense did not allow a Deltona first down until after that third touchdown, but made up for it with a Cameron Richardson 49 yard interception return. In fact, it was the Chiles defense that accounted for the rest of the scoring, save for a field goal. Richardson tacked on a second INT return in the second quarter and Kameron Smith scooped up a Myzel Williams fumble and took it to the house from 33 yards out. Sandwiched between those scores was a safety as a Deltona snap was fumbled into and recovered in the end zone. The defense forced five Deltona tornovers in all including two more interceptions by Bryant McKnight. The 47 points scored by Chiles gave the T-Wolves 325 for the season, a school record.
